Dr Michael Hong is a well-respected General Adult Psychiatrist with special interest in mood disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is also experienced in forensics and drug and alcohol treatment.

He has worked in occupational rehabilitation for more than 10 years, managing workers with

psychological injuries.

Dr Hong previously worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Black Dog Institute depression clinic, which is a tertiary referral centre for complex mood disorders, where other psychiatrists would refer patients for diagnostic clarification and treatment guidance.

Dr Hong has co-authored a number of research papers, which are published in Australian and

international psychiatric journals.

He enjoys a broad range of work, and spends the majority of his time in providing direct patient care. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and psychiatrists-in-training.  He is a Personal Injury Commission Medical Assessor and a member of the Appeal Panel, in Workers Compensation and Motor Accidents divisions.
